Guiding Principals

At Positive Steps ABA (PSABA), our guiding principles place the care of the children and families we serve, and the ethical provision of services, at the center of everything we do. These principles are the foundation on which we build our goals and strategies, and they guide our interactions with our clients, families, staff, and community.

Our Purpose

PSABA provides medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children diagnosed with autism and related developmental differences. Our purpose is to prepare the children we serve for life beyond therapy by teaching meaningful skills and coping strategies that help them thrive and experience a happy, fulfilling life, while honoring and respecting each person's unique strengths.

Mission

PSABA is committed to providing high quality ABA services that help our clients and their families reach their full potential while honoring and respecting differing strengths. We aim to equip our staff and families with the tools needed to grow, develop as individuals, and accomplish their goals.

Vision

We envision an ABA company known for unwavering commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and dedicated support for our valued staff and families. We aim to set a standard for excellence in the industry by fostering trust through honesty in our communications and treatment, creating a positive impact on the lives we touch, and continually learning and growing as professionals.

Core Values

We expect everyone at PSABA, at all levels, to uphold these values in every aspect of service delivery and support of our mission:

  1. Active Listening: We prioritize active listening and foster an environment of understanding and empathy to best serve the unique needs of every individual and family.
  2. Professional Development: We are dedicated to the continual professional development of our team, encouraging a culture of learning, growth, and expertise to provide the highest quality of care.
  3. Advocacy: We are passionate advocates for the rights and well-being of every individual we serve, ensuring they have a voice and access to the resources they need to thrive.
  4. Family Guidance: We provide comprehensive support and guidance to families, understanding that their involvement is integral to the success and well-being of those in our care.
  5. Individuality: We celebrate individuality by recognizing the uniqueness of each person and tailoring our approaches to honor the diverse needs and strengths of every individual.
  6. Collaboration: We work as one team across clinical and administrative roles, communicating openly and supporting one another so that the people we serve experience seamless, coordinated care.
  7. Accountability: We take ownership of our responsibilities and outcomes, follow through on our commitments, and approach mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve rather than to assign blame.
  8. Ethical Practices: We adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice, striving to ensure transparency, integrity, and respect in every aspect of our services, operations, and interactions.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

PSABA is committed to building a workplace and a community of care where differences are valued as strengths. We strive to create an environment in which staff, clients, and families of all backgrounds, abilities, identities, and experiences feel respected, supported, and able to contribute fully. We hold ourselves accountable to fair and equitable practices in how we hire, develop, and support our people, and we recognize that honoring diversity is inseparable from delivering individualized, person-centered care.

Availability

These guiding principles are shared with our staff and leadership, incorporated into our onboarding, website, and daily practice, and made available to the families we serve and the public.
